Session 1 Reflections
Session 1 THE FUN THEY HAD Isaac Asimov
My Reflections on this moving piece which links to the fascinating area of future gazing and science fiction writers including Arthur C Clarke… (HOW CLOSE THEY CAN BE..?)
The keywords I noted from the session (below) and my lasting reflection is Technology can be isolating and limit learning if applied as a driver without good pedagogical reasoning and in the absence of a social context. Technology can be an enabler in the skilled hands of an educator who builds this in collaboration with a range of other factors…
What could a future look like if its all about the Tech and not the learning…?
BINARY / NO FUN / FORMULAIC / DE-PERSONALIZED / CHOICE IS LIMITED / FAILURE NOT ACCEPTED
“Before you become too entranced with gorgeous gadgets and mesmerizing video displays, let me remind you that information is not knowledge, knowledge is not wisdom, and wisdom is not foresight. Each grows out of the other, and we need them all.”
― Arthur C. Clarke
